Discover Attabad Lake
A striking turquoise lake formed in 2010, stretching 21 km through Upper Hunza beneath bare mountain walls.
Experience one of the most photographed lakes in Pakistan. Attabad Lake was formed in January 2010 when a landslide blocked the Hunza River. Today the Karakoram Highway passes through the Pak-China Friendship Tunnels above its shores, and the lake offers boat rides, jet-skiing and lakeside cabins. Visit early in the morning, when the water is calmest and the light is at its best.

Good to Know
Some visitors do, but the water is glacial and very cold all year. Boat rides and jet-skis are the best way to enjoy the lake.
