Discover Khaplu, the former seat of the Yabgo dynasty. Khaplu Palace, built in 1840 and restored by the Aga Khan Trust, is the finest example of Baltistan’s Tibetan-influenced architecture. Visit the Chaqchan Mosque, explore the peaceful Shyok Valley and continue towards Hushe, the trailhead for Masherbrum and K6. Evenings are cool even in summer, so bring a warm layer.
