The second-highest plateau on earth — a vast flowering landscape at 4,114 m, home to the Himalayan brown bear and open only in summer.
Explore Deosai National Park, “the land of giants”. Snowbound for most of the year, the plateau opens in summer into rolling green plains, crystal streams and carpets of wildflowers, with Sheosar Lake at 4,142 m. The park was created in 1993 to protect the Himalayan brown bear, and marmots are seen everywhere. There are no settlements and no mobile signal: only the sky, the mountains and the silence.

Good to Know
The plateau usually opens between late June and mid-July, once the snow clears, and closes again in late September or early October.
Sightings are possible, usually at a distance and early in the morning near Bara Pani. Marmots are seen on every visit, and our park guide knows where the latest sightings have been.
