Experience the top of the Karakoram Highway. The scenic drive from Sost climbs through Khunjerab National Park, home to marmots, ibex and blue sheep, to the Pakistan–China border at 4,693 m. Snow often remains at the top well into summer, so bring a warm jacket in every season. The pass is closed in winter and usually reopens in April or May, subject to weather and road conditions.

Good to Know
Pakistani nationals need only their CNIC. Foreign nationals need their passport and are registered at the Sost checkpost, which we arrange. A national park entry fee applies to everyone.
You climb from about 2,400 m to 4,693 m in one morning, so a mild headache or breathlessness is common. We keep the stop at the top to around forty minutes.
